I was fifteen when I made this, kneeling on the lino floor of the attic room of my parent’s house and heating the wax in a baked bean tin with a candle underneath. Considering I had been banned from doing Batik at school, after I set the art room floor on fire, my parents were very laid back about it. We always had naked candles on our Christmas trees at home and nobody turned a hair. Health & Safety wasn’t really an issue in those days obviously!
