This beautiful garden is at Wardle Lock at Middlewich on the Shropshire Union. We spent a lovely afternoon here once when our boat broke down. I lay in the sun while it was fixed!
In those days the garden was beautifully kept, by an old lady lock-keeper who’d been on the canals all her life but after her death it was left to run wild. This is a memory of happier times.
