This amazing iron structure built across the River Severn in Coalbrookdale is the jewel in Shropshire’s crown. The bridge and nearby museum is not far from where I live and is somewhere I like to show off proudly to my visitors.
This Batik was not simple. I had to wax all the spaces between the intricate ironwork and railings, both in the sky and in the rippled mirror reflection in the water. The bridge and its reflection was then only part left which was not waxed, so the only part which would take the last colour, black.
Sadly this piece is sold but if you would like to talk about commissioning one like it, email me
